Meet Gila
This journey has not been easy but its been necessary. My love and passion for holistic health came from being stricken with two pinched nerves in my neck and three slipped discs in my back. Emergency surgery was recommended, but I declined. I sought an alternative way to healing with herbal medicine and multiple foot reflexology sessions. What started out to be a long road of pain, ended up being a short road to healing, which inspired my journey to study health and wellness. In 2012, I relocated to Tempe, Arizona to study Western Herbalism, Reflexology and Aromatherapy at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA). Studying under Program Director, Herbalist JoAnn Sanchez RH (AHG) and Brittney Sounart, graduate of SWIHA and owner of Desert Sage Herbs. During my studies, I interned at Tangled Root Botanicals in Glendale, Arizona for owner Merihelen Diaz Nunez, who is also a graduate of SWIHA. After graduation, I completed an additional 500 hour herbal certificate course taught by Kathleen Gould, Herbalist RH (AHG) and owner of SW Herbs in Mesa, Arizona. I am grateful to offer services that will transform and restore the health and well-being of others.
